Przyczyną śmierci był zator tętnicy krezkowej; podejrzewa się wadę wrodzoną zwierzęcia, ponieważ jego brat zmarł wcześniej (w innym ZOO, nie w Polsce) na podobną przypadłość: zdjęcie udostępnione przez Dixi (c) 2005 na bazie GNU FDL.
