| Description |
English: The Ascaris egg appeared highly decorticated upon exposure to undiluted disinfectant - Jik (a sodium hypochlorite based South African household disinfectant) in this case. Due to extreme movement of the larva within the decorticated egg allowed for it to break the membranous egg layer, resulting in hatching of the egg on the slide. |
